Mileage Rules
The Ellenville Central School District provides transportation to and from school to all children from Grades K-6 residing a distance of .7 of a mile or more from the school building and to all students Grades 7-12 residing beyond one mile of the school building.

These guidelines have been established in the district since 1965.

The original Board of Education ECSD Mileage Rules 1965 documentation authorizing these distances is available for review.

New York State law requires the District to have a seat available for every eligible student on every day school is open.

The District follows New York State official guidance for measuring eligibility.

Route Determination
We periodically review our bus routes to ensure that the most efficient system is in place. A formal transportation study was conducted in 2012.
