Ellenville’s Elementary School musicians celebrated spring with a joyous concert held at the High School on May 25. Showcasing their musical talents were the Fifth Grade Band, directed by Andrea Mau; the Sixth Grade Band, directed by Christina Schoonmaker; and the Fifth and Sixth Grade Chorus, directed by Margo Marusek.
Chorus highlights included “Ordinary Miracle” by Glen Ballard and David A. Stewart from the movie Charlotte’s Web, featuring a solo from Lilliana Schoonmaker; “I’ll Make a Difference” by Moses Hogan, with a solo from Juliana Cruz; and “You Can Count on Me'' by Bruno Mars, with solos from Emma Beckley, Sophia DeJesus, Mya Martinez, Kylee Moreno, Brian Provost, and Journey Thorpe.
In addition, audiences were treated to the Fifth Grade Band’s crowd-pleasing performance of “Kitchen Musicians” by Scott Watson, and the Sixth Grade Band’s polished playing of “March of the Robot Brigade” by Chris Bernotas. Bravo!
