Parents/guardians of Ellenville's school-aged children will be eligible to receive a free bag of breakfast and lunch food items once a week this summer through the People's Place "Bag Summer Hunger" program. Bags can be picked up at the United Methodist Church, which is located at 83 Canal Street in Ellenville, from 9-10:30 AM on Tuesdays, starting on July 2 and continuing until August 27.
Bags will contain a variety of the following: cereal, instant oatmeal, pancake mix, peanut butter, jelly, meats, cheese, pasta, bread, fresh or canned fruit, fresh vegetables, snacks, juice, and a milk card. (Bag items will change weekly.)
Registration is required to participate in the program. Forms can be picked up from (and returned to) Denise Avery in the Ellenville Central School District Business Office, which is located at 28 Maple Avenue in Ellenville. You can also email her at davery@ecs.k12.ny.us.
