The Ellenville Central School District is proud to announce this year’s Athletic Hall of Fame inductees. The Class of 2024 includes three former Blue Devil athletes and a Varsity Baseball championship team.
Steven Levine is a 1993 Ellenville graduate who is being inducted for his prowess as a pitcher on the Baseball team. Levine still holds two school records—one for wins in one season with 10, and the other for his career Earned Run Average of 1.13.
Joining Levine in this year’s class is Marcia McCombs, a 1989 graduate and pitcher on the Blue Devils Softball team. McCombs was named to multiple All-Star teams by the Kingston Daily Freeman, the Times Herald Record, and the Mid-Hudson Athletic League. McCombs also led the Blue Devils to a second-place finish in the New York State Championships in 1989.
Inductee Keith Pickell was a 1999 graduate and a standout on the Blue Devils Wrestling team. Pickell holds the school record for career wins with 124, and was named a 1999 Section IX champion, a New York State runner up, and an All-American athlete.
Rounding out the Class of 2024 is the 1961 Varsity Baseball team, which is being inducted for winning the Dutchess, Ulster, Sullivan and Orange (DUSO) League Championship in 1961.
The sixth annual Athletic Hall of Fame Induction will take place at 11 AM on Saturday, October 5, in the Ellenville Elementary School cafeteria.
