Young girls racing on a track

On Saturday, September 21, the Ellenville Central School District hosted its first ever "Girls in Sports Day," an all-day extravaganza that invited aspiring and curious athletes from Grades 3-8 to sample Ellenville's plentiful athletic offerings. In this hands-on event, every participant emerged victorious!

Our future sports stars had the opportunity to rotate between a variety of exciting sports, including track and field, field hockey, soccer, softball, tennis, volleyball, and golf. Led by our dedicated Varsity coaches, the girls participated in short, fun exercises that gave them an active taste of each sport. With expert guidance, our athletes-in-training jumped, spiked, hit, putted, and slammed their way around the Ellenville athletic fields and gymnasium.

Many of our current Varsity Girls athletes were also on hand to demonstrate techniques and share their experiences, inspiring the younger participants. The event also included lunch, during which all the athletes could socialize and get to know each other.

We're thrilled to see how this experience will shape our future Blue Devils. Here's to empowering the next generation of female athletes in Ellenville!
