A veteran and student

On November 8, Ellenville students and staff came together to celebrate and thank our veterans at a special celebration in the Junior High School cafeteria. National Honor Society students served a scrumptious breakfast to veterans from our community, including our own staff members who have served.

The morning was made even more meaningful with performances by our school choir and band, who filled the room with patriotic music. A highlight was hearing from local veteran and proud Blue Devil father and grandfather, Charles Dechon, who shared his inspiring message of "service over self"—the principle that guided his military commitment.

The District thanks all veterans who joined us, and all who have served. Your dedication to putting service over self continues to inspire our students and community. We look forward to making this meaningful event an annual tradition.

We were honored to welcome these veterans from our staff and community: Mike Hemstreet, Ulysses Young, Jerry Snyder, Robert Hornsberger, Justin Ramirez, James Montanya, Charles Dechon, Daniel McQuillan, Juan Cruz, Sergio Lajera, Sean Padua, Dick Constant, Robert Owsinski, Danny Santiago, and James Wright.
