The Ellenville Central School District is excited to announce our Farm-to-School program for the 2023-2024 school year! Our food service staff will be working hard to purchase and prepare foods from farms here in Ulster County and throughout the Hudson Valley. Students can look forward to exciting foods on the menu, such as watermelon juice, corn salsa, venison stew, duck egg frittata, and more! These foods will be available as menu items and as samples if your child wants to try just a bite.

Our Farm to School program is made possible through a partnership with the Cornell Cooperative Extension, the Rondout Valley Growers Association, and our local farms.

We are kicking off the program with a scratch-made cheeseburger soup prepared with locally sourced beef. The beef is locally-sourced right here in Ulster County from Veritas Farms in New Paltz. This creative soup will be on the menu in the cafeteria on Friday, September 15!

We will be featuring fresh, local watermelon-mint juice on the lunch menu on Friday, September 21. The watermelons and mint are grown at Great Joy Family Farm, just 12 miles away in Pine Bush.
