A PreK student wokrs on an Earth Day craft

The PreKindergarten program at Ellenville Elementary School hosted its second Family Engagement Day recently, with a special "Earth Day" theme. It was a wonderful event that provided a perfect space for exploration for both children and families.

Through hands-on activities like creating pinecone bird feeders and rice cake Earths, participants got to deepen their understanding of nature and environmental concepts in a tangible and interactive way. Additionally, the opportunity to engage in activities like making blue and green bracelets and paper Earths encouraged creativity and imagination, and allowed families to explore their artistic sides together while celebrating Earth Day.

Events like this one play a crucial role in fostering a sense of community and togetherness, while promoting learning and appreciation for the world around us. Special thanks to teachers Ann Mattracion and Cierra Regan, and Teaching Assistants Kathleen Madison and Carol Avery for making it happen!
