Dear Ellenville Central School District Families,
This notice is to inform our students and families of date changes to the Grades 3-8 New York State (NYS) assessments that were previously posted on the printed district calendars. The information below shows the dates of each assessment. Please disregard any testing dates that conflict with those listed below.

The NYS assessments are used to measure student progress across the state in achieving the state learning standards while providing a critical picture of student opportunity across the state. The Department of Education uses the results to identify areas that may benefit from additional resources or support.

7/8 Extended Day
Math & ELA Purpose: Reinforce key Math and ELA concepts
Who Should Attend: Students seeking additional support in Math and ELA

Math - Tues/Wed/Thurs 2:45-3:45 PM
7/8: Math Power Hour
Purpose: Focused math instruction to address gaps and strengthen skills
Who Should Attend: Students close to meeting grade-level math expectations who can benefit from support to accelerate progress.

Purpose: Prepare students for the upcoming Math and ELA NYS Assessments
Who Should Attend: All students preparing for the NYS Assessments

Incentive Raffle Program
Students who attend after-school prep programs will be entered into a raffle for prizes!
Each day a student stays after, they earn a raffle ticket.
More attendance = more chances to win!
Prizes include: Extra recess, snacks, gift cards, fidgets, and lunch with an administrator.
Help motivate your child by encouraging participation in test prep sessions!
Ways to Prepare at Home
Encourage a good night’s sleep before test days.
Provide a healthy breakfast—brain power starts with nutrition!
Practice with sample questions (ask your child’s teacher for resources!).
Boost confidence! Remind your child that they are prepared and capable.
Minimize stress—avoid cramming and instead focus on steady preparation.
