Congratulations to the 12 Ellenville Grade 6-8 students who received the New York State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AHPERD) Catskill Zone Physical Education Student Leadership Award, at a special ceremony at Minisink High School on May 11!
Physical education teachers nominated students who demonstrate responsible personal and social behavior, sportsmanship, and citizenship; show a desire to learn and improve; exhibit a physically active lifestyle; demonstrate leadership; and are a positive influence on peers. The students didn’t necessarily have to be the best athletes, but they needed to have exhibited those qualities, as well as having contributed toward the total school program.
We are proud to congratulate the following recipients: Caleb St. Peter, Leo Zolynski, Shea Stewart, Hector Lopez, David Lin, Angelina Soares, Princess Anderson, Isaiah Alicea-Delgado, Sophiana Jacobs, Meagann Wright, Isaiah Disalvatore, and Adelyn Sarno.
“The physical education department was excited to nominate these exceptional students. As a district, we are extremely proud of these students and look forward to seeing what they will continue to bring to our physical education classes,” said Ellenville Director of Physical Education, Health, and Athletics Matthew Salamone.
