On Wednesday, February 26, our community gathered for “A Band Festival” in the Jr/Sr High School Auditorium, an exceptional evening of music showcasing the incredible talent in our District's music program.
Under the direction of Christina Schoonmaker, the Junior High School Jazz Band, Grade 6 and Grades 7-8 bands delivered outstanding performances. The Senior High School Jazz and Symphonic Bands, directed by Laurie Warden, continued to impress with their musical excellence.
Our directors proudly highlighted the achievements of our student musicians, many of whom have earned selections to the Ulster County Music Educators' All-County Band, Hudson Valley Honor Band, New York State Band Directors' Association Honor Band, as well as Area All-State Band and Symphony Orchestra.
The audience was thoroughly entertained with many popular favorites, including the "Ghostbusters" theme and "Bohemian Rhapsody." The evening culminated in a rousing combined performance of "Blackbeard," bringing together musicians from Grades 6-12!
We're incredibly proud of our student musicians' accomplishments and dedication to honing their craft—a testament to the strength of our music program in our small but mighty District!
